Signal is priced per analysed call. Each plan is a flat monthly price with a monthly allowance, billed per organization, with card payments through Stripe. Plans differ in how much Signal reads each month, not in what it can do. Limits and quotas lists every limit you can reach, including the API’s.

Plans

Every plan includes the board, flow, traces, versions, the REST API and the MCP server. Plans differ in volume, not in features. Prices are in US dollars. Analysed calls, copilot messages and simulated test calls are counted per billing period. Agents and seats are totals. Paid plans belong to an organization. A personal workspace is always on Free. To upgrade from one, open Plan and usage and select Create organization. A Free workspace’s allowances reset on the first of each month at 00:00 UTC. A paid workspace’s allowances reset at the start of each billing period. Unused allowance does not carry over. Plan and usage under Settings shows your period and your usage against each limit. See the Billing FAQ.

What counts as an analysed call

A call counts once, when Signal takes it for analysis. Importing a call does not count it. Calls are taken oldest first. Every call Signal analyses counts, whatever the outcome. That includes a call where the caller never spoke, so a line that gets many silent calls spends its allowance on them. A call does not count when:
  • It is analysed again. Selecting Analyze again or Re-analyze, or Signal updating its reading of calls you already have, never counts a call a second time.
  • It is a duplicate. Signal identifies a call by its Retell call ID. A call already counted in your workspace is not counted again, even if you delete the agent and connect it again.
  • It is waiting. A call that has not been analysed yet is not counted.
  • It belongs to the demo agent. Northwind Dental is Signal’s own sample data. It does not count toward your allowance or your agent limit.
Simulated test calls and copilot messages have their own allowances and do not use up analysed calls.

The 10-minute rule

A call counts once for every 10 minutes it has started. Signal takes the length from Retell. If Retell gives none, it uses the time between the call’s start and end. If neither is known, the call counts as 1. Worked example. A Starter workspace imports 1,000 calls of about 3 minutes and 20 calls of 25 minutes in one period. Each short call counts 1, which is 1,000. Each 25-minute call has started 3 blocks of 10 minutes, so it counts 3, which is 60. The total is 1,060 of 1,500, with 440 left.

When you reach the allowance

Nothing is dropped and nothing is charged extra.
  • Calls keep importing. They are stored and wait unanalysed. Nothing is deleted.
  • Analysis starts again by itself after you upgrade, or when the period resets. After an upgrade, analysis normally restarts as checkout finishes, for every agent whose waiting calls now fit. After a reset, a new period’s analysis can begin up to about half an hour later.
  • Calls are taken oldest first and in order. Signal stops at the first call that does not fit in what is left. A 25-minute call needs 3, so with 2 left it waits, and the calls after it wait with it.
  • You are told. At 80% of the allowance a line under the top of the app reads “1,200 of 1,500 analysed calls used this period.” When it is used up, the line reads “All 1,500 analysed calls used. New calls wait until Nov 1.” Once calls are waiting it reads “30 calls are stored and waiting for analysis.” The line links to Plan and usage and can be dismissed until the next period. On Plan and usage, a notice counts the calls that are stored and waiting. The import status on Agent config says how many wait.
Waiting calls do not feed the board or issues until they are analysed. There is no overage price: calls past the allowance wait, or you move to a larger plan.

Agents, copilot messages and test calls

These stop at the limit. They do not queue.
  • Agents are a total, not a monthly count. Connecting an agent beyond your plan’s limit fails with “Free includes 1 agent. Upgrade to add more.” Reconnecting an agent that is already in the workspace is not a new agent, and deleting an agent frees its place.
  • Copilot messages are one allowance shared by the brief chat and the copilot. A message you send in either counts once. Each quick check the copilot runs counts as one message too. The lookups and steps the copilot takes inside one message do not count separately. Near the limit the copilot shows “5 messages left” under its box. At the limit its box is disabled, and both places say “Starter includes 100 copilot messages a month. Upgrade to keep chatting.” The count resets with the period.
  • Simulated test calls count one per test and persona in a run, however often a call is retried or repeated inside the run. Calibration counts one per test. A run is checked as a whole before it starts. If it needs 12 simulated calls and the plan has 4 left, Signal refuses the whole run, so you never get a run that silently skipped cases. A run that waits for your approval, or is refused, counts nothing. Runs Signal starts for you after a release count the same way.
  • Seats are the people in your organization. The limit comes with the plan. Signal does not count or remove members itself.
Simulated calls play on your own Retell account, and Retell bills you for their voice minutes. The test budget you set for an agent in Signal is separate from the plan’s allowance and limits what you spend at Retell. The copilot, the brief chat and connecting agents exist in the app only. Starting a run through the API or the MCP server meets the same test-call limit and fails with HTTP 402 and the code quota_exceeded. Limits and quotas shows the response.

Annual billing

Billing yearly takes 20% off, rounded down to whole dollars. It is charged once a year: 468forStarter,468 for Starter, 1,428 for Growth and $3,828 for Scale. Free has no yearly price. The allowances stay monthly. A yearly plan gets its full monthly allowance every month, counted from the day the year started, and unused calls do not carry over. Choose monthly or yearly billing in the pricing table under Change plan.

Enterprise

Enterprise starts at $1,500 a month. It is not bought at checkout: Signal sets it up by hand, with limits chosen for your call volume (typically 50,000 analysed calls a month or more), unlimited seats and SSO. The price is a floor, not a list price. Select Contact us in the Enterprise column of Plan and usage to start.

How Signal prices differently

Other voice quality tools bill by the minute, the metric or the credit. Signal bills per analysed call and has no per-metric charge, so every finding on a call is included in its price. Every plan also includes test calls, the copilot, the API and the MCP server.
